Abstract: The study of the binaries like the ‘self’ and the ‘other’ has been topic of discussion among various literary and critical theorists. In addition to many others, Postcolonial theorists have always shown a key interest in the study of the binaries like- coloniser and colonised, light and dark, good and bad and so on. Till the twentieth century the Europeans established colonies in the Asian, African and American continents, and this establishment is called ‘colonialism’. However, after the Second World War most of the colonies gained independence, and this gave way to the ‘Postcolonial era’. This end of the colonial order, led to the emergence of the discourse known as ‘Postcolonial’ theory. Postcolonial theory attempts to study the position and representation of the natives during the colonial times. Frantz Fanon, who can be called as one of the earliest Postcolonial theorists, in his The Wretched of the Earth (1961), tried to study the position of the natives in colonial times. With the theorist, many postcolonial writers also tried to portray the colonial world in their works, and one such writer was J M Coetzee. This paper will try to study the presence of the binaries in colonial world through Coetzee’s fictional work Waiting for the Barbarians (1980), by reading it through the insights of Fanon. In addition the paper will also use the medium of popular culture, in the form of the television series Game of Thrones (2011-19) to analyse the binaries outside the colonial context.

Abstract: The concept of Industry 5.0 gives a distinctive center and highlights the significance of inquiring about and advancement to back the industry in its long-term benefit to humankind inside planetary boundaries. The concept of industry 5.0 was given by the Japan. They emphasized on advanced technological advancement in each sector for more production and economic upliftment. Industry 5.0 needs to come to hold with the guarantees of progressed digitalization, huge information, and counterfeit insights, whereas accentuating the part these innovations can play to address modern, new prerequisites within the mechanical, societal and natural scene. Unused technologies have the potential to form work environments more comprehensive and more secure for specialists, as well as increment their work fulfillment. Many have lost their job during the pandemic. A large section of our society is not able to cope with innovative techniques. The study will highlight the challenges to inclusive work environments in MNCs in India and suggest measures to face these challenges through empirical research.

Abstract: Tax administration issues affect many nations, businesses and individuals. Many nations experience challenges in managing taxes and therefore constantly develop tools and strategies for administering tax effectively. The objective was to determine the role of information technology on VAT compliance. Technology Acceptance Model governed the study, which allow people to adopt technology due to its major constructs, which are perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU). The study used convergent parallel design under mixed approach to collect both qualitative and quantitative data. Total population for this study was 680 registered VAT payers and 8 key informants from Tanzania Revenue Authority management personnel at normal flow unit, which specifically deals with the collection of VAT in Moshi Municipality. Sample size of 251 respondents were obtained through Yamane Formula (2004) from taxpayers in Moshi Municipal. Systematic sampling was used to get respondents during data collection from taxpayers and key informants guide to TRA officers. Primary data was collected using questionnaires and an interview guide. The validity of the research instrument was ensured by research professionals, to check for ambiguities and confusion of the instruments while internal consistency was tested using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. An Alpha Coefficient of 0.751 was obtained which indicates strong reliability for the study to proceed. The quantitative data was sorted and analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The descriptive statistics were done by using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Qualitative data was presented in terms of context and interpreted based on the research objective. The study found that there is a positive impact between information technology and tax compliance and concluded that, IT has increased compliance to VAT traders and improved monitoring and fraud detection to TRA officers. Researcher recommended to TRA office to improve their network availability and system security to protect taxpayers from unintended consequences in terms of privacy, confidentiality, data leakages and cyber security.

Abstract: The study aimed to examine the influence of succession planning on the growth of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania in Northern Diocese church projects. A cross-sectional research design was used, with 264 samples from registered employees and project management selected through random and purposeful sampling. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires and in-depth interviews, with face-to-face interviews with 12 management. The study was conducted ethically, ensuring participant privacy and confidentiality. The study considered reliability and validity where a pre-test for internal consistency obtained 0.78 Cronbach’s alpha coefficient that indicated the items were measuring the same context. Data was analyzed using SPSS through descriptive statistics and measure of central tendency. The results revealed that the succession planning program is not well-structured, regularly reviewed, and updated. The majority of the respondents showed no active involvement of the church’s leadership in supporting and promoting the program, and no preparation of potential leaders for adequate resources and training to ensure the continuity and sustainability of church projects. The current project does not lead to projected growth, as leadership does not support or promote the succession planning program. The study recommends that the church leadership and stakeholders critically evaluate and reassess the existing succession planning program, actively involving the church leadership in supporting and promoting the program, and effectively identifying and preparing potential leaders.

Abstract: This study was aimed at assessing the contribution of working conditions on work performance of public secondary school teachers in Moshi District, Tanzania. The Two Factor Theory by Herzberg (1959) was used in explaining about specific work motivation that bring about job satisfaction. The study used a convergent research design with a mixed research approach. The population of the study included 1,145 public secondary school teachers from which a sample of 256 respondents was obtained. 5 heads of schools and 3 Ward education Coordinators were used as key informants for the study. Data was collected by using a questionnaire and a key informant interview guide. The validation of the instrument was done through a research expert from MWECAU, and the reliability of the instrument was ensured through Cronbach alpha. The reliability for teachers was r= (0.8). Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics to get frequencies, percentages and means. Qualitative data was analyzed using contextual themes analysis and narrative analysis methods. Findings indicated that working conditions of secondary school teachers have a positive impact on their performance. The study concluded that working condition in public secondary schools have highly impact on teachers working performance. The study recommends that Ward Education Coordinators should regularly assess the working conditions and resource needs of schools within their jurisdiction.

Abstract: This study investigated on how investment knowledge and education affects share ownership among civil servants in Moshi Municipal Council, Tanzania. The study was grounded by Social Exchange Theory, which suggested that people are more likely to invest when they believe that the benefits of ownership outweigh the risks and costs associated with ownership. This study used mixed approach to collect and analyze data both qualitative and quantitative within the same research project. Concurrent Design was used to provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic of study by triangulation data obtained from multiple sources. A sample size of 187 respondents were obtained using the Yamane Formula through purposeful and stratified random sampling. Questionnaire and key informant interview were used to gather data. Data was analyzed through Pearson Correlation Model and presented through Tables. Pilot testing of the research instruments was conducted to test validity and reliability of the instruments. The instruments were examined by research professionals to determine their validity, and a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.78 was obtained for reliability of the research instruments through Statistical Package for Social Science. Ethical guidelines for data collection were ensured to promote moral principles. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used to code the obtained data, evaluate the descriptive statistics, and show the results in tables. The study revealed that there is a statistically significant effect between investment knowledge and share ownership among civil servants in MMC and concluded that education and knowledge of investors play a significant role in enhancing investor’s decision to participate in share ownership. Lastly, the researcher recommends that Efforts should be done to increase knowledge and education among civil servants regarding share ownership. Providing access to reliable information, financial advisors, and training programs to empower share ownership participation in Tanzania.

Abstract: Customers actively supporting a company or product online is known as online brand advocacy and is a crucial component of online marketing. From the standpoint of active fashion brand advocates in online marketplaces, little studies focused on the steps or processes of online brand advocacy. This study attempts to fill this knowledge gap by investigating the process of online brand advocacy through in-depth interviews with 15 active fashion brand supporters in Indonesia online marketplaces. There are four key stages of online brand advocacy: (1) the initial stages of learning about and using the product; (2) the stages of developing a favorable attitude and emotional connection with the brand; (3) the stages of actively sharing and promoting the brand; and (4) the stages of developing a strong brand advocacy and community. The research also revealed that the participants’ reasons for online brand promotion varied, including social identification, personal interest, and reciprocity. The results add to our understanding of online brand advocacy by giving us insights into the process from the viewpoints of active fashion brand advocates in Indonesia online marketplaces.

Abstract: A self efficacy belief plays an vital and inevitable role in the formation of perception, behavior, confidence throughout our life. Be it the compatibility with the technology or any another thing. Its use is ubiquitous now days. Technology has creeped and infiltrated in our every facet of life. In this Manuscript empirical analysis is done to understand the integration of the technology with the self efficacy beliefs. To measure the confidence in acceptance, understanding and use of technology in real life projects, online research papers of high index (Scopus, SCI and W.O.S) were referred for secondary data. A modified questionnaire (Ling Wang, Peggy A. Ertmer, Timothy J. Newby) was used as per the requirement of the study. Simple random sampling was used, responses were collected through goggle forms. Cronbach alpha =0.941 indicates the reliability of the scale. The analysis indicates that males and post graduate students are a bit less confident in the computer technological capabilities and strategies. Students in the age group 20-22 years are most confident in the self efficacy and belief of the technological capabilities and strategies, those below 20 years of age are highest instable for the use of technology in real life. If the belief and self efficacy is positive then the confidence in the use of technology in real life projects and in academics will be high and vice-versa. Highly positive correlated.

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate how high school EFL teachers and students perceived CLT and to what extent they used the principles across their entire classes in the Ethiopian high school setting. The research was carried out using a combination of techniques. Exploratory research approach was used in the study to clarify reliable participant data. 100 students and 26 English language teachers from secondary schools in the West Guji Zone participated in the study, which was carried out in a few chosen secondary schools in the zone. Purposive and random sampling approaches were applied in the sample population selection process. The observation checklist, interview, and questionnaire served as the data gathering tools. Whereas information from interviews and observations was qualitatively presented to support the quantitative data, information from questionnaires was quantitatively evaluated and interpreted in terms of percentages. Overall study results showed that a majority of teachers (80.41%) and over half of participants (62.33%) had a somewhat positive opinion of the CLT premises. The study, however, reveals a stark disparity between the way instructors and students actually use CLT in an EFL setting and how they perceive it.

Abstract: Global warming is one of the biggest problems of 21st century for the world. It is imperative for Transportation sector to reduce environmental pollution, create energy security and mitigate the severity of the climate change. Indian Govt has already planned to be Green transporter within 2030 by reducing the carbon footprint in Indian railway. Being the fourth largest rail network the initiative of decarbonization will not only impact India but take a predominant role in the world. One of the initiatives of decarbonizing is solar installation on narrow gauge Kalka-Shimla line trains have been depicted here in detail. The study not only reveals the amount of energy saving potential in a train after solar installation but also gives a clear idea on carbon emission reduction per year and carbon credit earned by the initiative. The description of minute details of the solar system, comment on installation benefit on various types of coaches and more over the payback calculation will give a clear planning route map for other countries also who want to address the burning issues of the era like global warming and energy dependency.
